Should you have an email marketing list.

If you are not using email marketing in your online business you could be missing out on sales revenue and more profits for your business. By creating an email marketing list you are targeting consumers that have, in one way or another, expressed interest in your offer. Your list can be a goldmine for future sales by following certain fundamentals to obtain permission-based subscribers.

Your email marketing list can be set up to send out your messages automatically over several days or weeks. You can also choose to send out a newsletter manually for important updates or special savings for your subscribers at any time. Email marketing works as people have already requested some information from you. They are in some way interested in what you have to offer. Your job then is to provide information that will help the subscriber make a decision to purchase your product or service.

How do you build up an email marketing list?

Here are a few ideas to help build your list and retain those subscribers on your lists.
  1. Make it easy for readers to sign up. The more information you request from your subscribers the less likely they will fill in your form. All you really need is their first name and email address.
  2. Give the reader a reason to subscribe. Provide useful and relevant information to your subscriber they may be interested in. Describe some benefits to have them want to learn more.
  3. Add subscription forms to all your pages. It should stand out but not clutter up your pages.
  4. Don't forget those social media pages. This can be a great source for added sales.
  5. Include a note on privacy. Let your readers know that their information isn't for sale and will be used only by you with their permission.
  6. If possible provide links to any other newsletters you have published. This could allow the reader to review your content and determine that would interest them.
  7. Provide a reason to join your list. This could be in the form of a useful ebook or business report. When appropriate this could also be a sample of your product or service., physical or downloadable.
  8. When sending an email to your list ask them to pass it own. This is often overlooked. If your reader finds the contend useful they may also have a friend that may like the information also.
  9. Reprints are OK. Let your subscribers know they are welcome to reprint the newsletter or use in as content on their site as long as it isn't modified by leaving out the author and contact information.
  10. Include testimonies. it's always a good idea to let your reader know what others think about your product or service.
I've personally tried different email service providers including aWeber, Constant Contact, Home Office Pro and others. For one reason or another I didn't like those services but did find one service I liked and recommend. That service is GetResponse Email Service.
